Mourning Mr. Karl Littner

We mourn our honorary member, Mr. Karl Littner of Los Angeles, California who passed away on his 90th birthday on January 15, 2014. Besides several other concentration camps, Karl Littner survived KZ Gusen II and shared his very touching memoirs a few years ago in the GMC publication “Life Hanging on a Spider Web – From Auschwitz-Zasole to Gusen II“. Since he was born into a Jewish family of Auschwitz in 1924, his memoirs are also an important document about Jewish life in this Old Austrian City of Galitzia before it became synonymous for the mass extermination of European Jews by the Nazis.
